We are most grateful and humbled to receive this much needed support. The Greenville Noon Rotary is actively involved in local community projects and we know funds are distributed after careful consideration. The much needed funds will allow us to continue to provide support for family members of seriously ill or injured active duty personnel being treated at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. The Home Away from Home Program also provides support to active duty families with a child admitted to Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

The Home Away from Home Program would not be possible without the support of the local community and organizations such as the Greenville Noon Rotary.

As of June 2010, the Home Away from Home Program has provided 120 nights of lodging since November 2008. We support all branches of the service. To learn more visit our website http://www.downeastmcl.com/home_fund/.

Home Fund Receives Grant from Pitt Memorial Hospital Foundation

We are pleased to announce the Pitt Memorial Hospital Foundation has awarded the Home Away from Home a grant through the Community Benefits & Health Initiatives Program.

The Pitt Memorial Hospital Foundation continues to recognize the need for this important effort. The Home Away from Home fund provides financial assistance, primarily lodging, to family members of seriously injured or ill active duty personnel being treated at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. We also provide assistance to active duty families with a child admitted to the Hospital when lodging is not possible at the Ronald McDonald House.

We are grateful for the Foundation's continued support and for all their work in the local community. Since November 2008, 114 nights of lodging have been donated to families in need. Our ability to provide support would be seriously hindered without the support from organizations such as the Pitt Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Home Fund Partners with Candlewood Suites

We are pleased to announce a new partnership with Candlewood Suites of Greenville, NC.

The Home Away from Home Program provides much needed support for family members of seriously injured or ill military personnel being treated at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. In most cases, these family members are in need of immediate lodging and we couldn’t be more excited to add Candlewood Suites as a friend to this important effort. Candlewood Suites is conveniently located near Pitt County Memorial Hospital and offers a wide range of services beneficial to the families we support.

Each year, dozens of active duty personnel are transported to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in order to receive treatment for life threatening injuries or illness. The family members of these injured or sick military personnel travel from all over the United States to be at the side of their love ones. The mission of the Home Away from Home Program is to provide immediate temporary lodging for these family members when they arrive in Eastern North Carolina. Assisting families is possible due to the generous support of the local community. Candlewood Suites will be a vital partner as we move forward to meet the needs of those who serve and their families.
